ORIOM
Cosmic Rituals
The new album. Vinyl, CD and digital on 17 November 2026.
Music for a planet yet to be invented
Some albums tell stories. Some create worlds. And then there is music that attempts to turn the listener’s own body into a resonating instrument.
On Cosmic Rituals, astronomical cycles and frequencies are transposed through octaves into the audible spectrum. This Cosmic Octave is the tonal foundation of the music. Techno, organic and psychedelic grooves, dub, drum & bass and archaic percussion become different states of matter within the same music.
At the centre is the human voice. Throat singing and overtone singing growl, vibrate, split into overtones, and become bass, drone and signal.
The first six overtones of F at 172.06 Hz. That is the Platonic Year, the 25,920-year wobble of the Earth’s axis, transposed 47 octaves up into hearing range. Wongchop is tuned to it. Scroll, and the overtones move.
- 1172.06 Hz
- 2344.12 Hz
- 3516.18 Hz
- 4688.24 Hz
- 5860.30 Hz
- 61032.36 Hz
Frequency becomes harmony.
Voice becomes synthesizer.
Repetition becomes ritual.
Bass becomes physical experience.
You do not need to know anything about planetary frequencies. You only need to hear what happens. Preferably loud.
Cosmic Rituals
Archaic and futuristic, meditative and physical, ritualistic and danceable. Thanks to everyone who backed the crowdfunding, the album comes out on vinyl and CD.
